As everyone knows, subconscious beliefs affect us and activate energies that we may not prefer. These tend to be deeply ingrained beliefs from our conditioning. These beliefs even tend to have beliefs sprouting from them so that it is hard to find these core beliefs.

This summer’s seasonal energy is about choosing more of Who you are. Within the theme of becoming more of Who you are this year, we are all finding that this has been a tough summer. Everyone is deeply immersed in their outer world working on their desire which is coming to some level of fruition. The deep work in the outer world is a good thing, and it is having everyone question what they believe.

Beliefs is a key to unlocking your dreams this summer. Unlocking comes when we release old, limiting beliefs and choose higher-vibrating beliefs that we can use to play the game of life. Another way of saying this is that this summer is challenging us to put a new program (beliefs) into our computers (ourselves), the program of Who we prefer to be. This, of course, requires deleting the old program off the computer so that the new one can run.

A new program, or belief, is not just a belief. It is truly a new program with different features and capabilities. We just saw the movie Inception. In the movie the main characters have the ability to enter into another’s dreams (during slumber) and to plant ideas, or beliefs into them. Their task in the movie is to get the heir to a huge energy company to take his new inheritance and break up his father’s company. Before the task, the heir plans on leaving the company as one, giving his company a monopoly on energy. After the inception of the idea (which they plant deep in the subconscious mind during dreaming), the heir has changed his mind. He now sees his father as having approved of him; he now feels that his father wanted him to be his own man and he is now ready to change everything about his company.

If you haven’t seen Inception, I recommend it. It is very appropriate to this summer’s energetic theme, which everyone is living now. It paints several great pictures of what a single belief can do, how many levels of your life a belief can affect and permeate. It shows how destructive a limiting belief can be and how powerfully beneficial and freeing an empowering belief can be.

If a belief serves you, it is empowering – unless you believe that it is and you are not seeing it clearly.

Notice whether your beliefs serve you, truly. As a co-creator we need to be very aware of the affects our current beliefs have on us and we need choose new beliefs that serve us.

What do You Believe?

Posted Friday, July 16th, 2010

Taken from our free Four Agreements Forum at www.toltecmysteryschool.com:

DSC_0016On the topic of the 5th agreement, a great topic has come up: beliefs.

Are you operating under old beliefs? Or have you chosen your beliefs, because they serve you? How so?

A true man or woman of power chooses what they believe. They choose what laws of form will serve them, they tap into this and then utilize it in whatever their intent is in life.

That is one example of living the Mastery of Intent, as a co-creator of your life.

What do you believe? Join the topic and post your belief!

Fifth Agreement

The Fifth Agreement: “Don’t believe me, don’t believe anyone else, don’t believe yourself.”

Believe me :) , life is short! What I love about this agreement is that it tells us where to go to find the answers in life. Not outside, not even inside, but rather in Self.

Tuning into our Source or our Higher Selves will yield the correct answer for us every time, even when it changes.

One of my central focuses is on connecting with my being.

Doing, doing, doing can drive you crazy and it is a great way to drain yourself. Of course, life gets busy and it can feel as though life is encouraging us to do, do, do.

What it really comes down to is our priorities. A deeply spiritual person or master knows their priorities well. So, I am making time to be with myself daily.

I consider knowing your priorities to be imperative.  Call it a key to enlightenment, if you will.

See things as they are~

See things as they are~

As you progress on a spiritual path you realize a few universal principals:

Blame only dis-empowers you and blocks the life of your dreams.

The past is an illusion and only weighs upon you.

If you are not being loving with others or in your life, you are not being loving with yourself.

Everything and anything you desire or prefer is in your love. When you experience love, you experience the universe. When you experience a lack of love, your world becomes very small.

bluehearts

I have always loved the idea of the Valentine’s Day holiday. Growing up it was a time of hearts, candy and Valentine cards for everyone in school. Even in High School Valentine-grams were sold as a fund raiser by some school groups. The idea: send a card and heart-shaped sucker to all your friends, your sweetie too, if you like.

As an adult, however, the function and the experience of Valentine’s Day is completely different. Valentine’s Day becomes a measure of your success at romantic love. It is a great reminder that you couldn’t get a date one day out of the year. It is a great judge of whether your company is romantic enough and whether they treat you like you are something special. Or not. It is a ruler with which to measure how much love you receive in the shapes of chocolates, roses, diamonds…. After all, if you didn’t receive a diamond, it’s not true love.

This was, at least, traditionally true. Thank goodness things seem to be changing. Now, for those of us on a spiritual path we see this holiday in a whole other light. Because we know that everything is about energy and about shifting our energy in the direction we prefer, we know that no day can measure our romantic love. We know that feelings of not being loved enough or not being romanced properly are actually only a reflection of our energy, our own love. For most of my adult life Valentine’s Day has been a celebration of love. The love you have inside, not the love that someone may give you.

As a celebration of love, I have traditionally participated and held Valentine group dinners, a chance to gather with friends, lovers, family, all. Everyone I love. Sure, receiving a rose is touching and appreciated, but sharing love and joy with many people is a far greater celebration. It becomes more festive, more energized and more grandiose.

Just ask everyone at the Jardin here in San Migule de Allende. I don’t know if all of Mexico is like this or not, but yesterday I was egged upon entering the plaza. To our great surprise the whole town seemed to be out celebrating with music, confetti-filled colored eggs, paper flowers and paper puppet clowns. Everyone was downtown: lovers, families, children and friends. Kids of all ages ran around breaking the eggs on one another, on strangers (like me!), laughing and having a great time. People sat before a concert in front of the cathedral. Families sat on a bench eating fresh corn. Everyone seemed to have received a balloon, clown or paper flower. Everyone was laughing and celebrating. Now that is what Valentine’s Day is really all about when you are on a spiritual path: it is about celebrating Love and Life, with all.

Part Three:

Sunshine

On this trip we did a lot of driving from one city to another, from one site to the next. What a blessing! I was so grateful to get to see to pyramids, which I love seeing. Their energy is always so magical. I feel loved, supported; in my flow. I feel empowered, impacted and able. I am more of myself. I had already known that sacred sites tap me right into my Source Flow.

DSC_0180

Focusing on the many things I was discovering and enjoying on this trip has made it easy to stay in my flow this week. Even my dad and his wife’s custom to keep a full schedule, which wore me down quickly from a lack of time to connect with myself didn’t knock me out of my flow.

My dad’s wife, on the other hand, had a harder time than I did at times due to the heat and due to a few little spats between them. She is pretty sensitive to the sun and the heat. Being in the sun for too long gives her headaches, puts her in a bad mood and generally gives her body a hard time. In the car, I’m the opposite. The air conditioning tends to chill me so I prefer the sunny side of the car. Sitting in the back of the car we were a perfect match! I’d warm up in the sun and she’d cool down in the shade. However, being as bothered with the sun as she was, she tended to attract the sunny side of the car, no matter what. She would ask which direction we were driving in to try to avoid the sun or she would trade me sides when we stopped for gas but, inevitably, her side of the car would be hot. While I kept warm with my shall, she got headaches and grumpy.

Once again I couldn’t help but see what life was putting right in front of me. How could I miss it? I heard my father’s wife struggle with the sun every day. Here what struck me most was the fact that it didn’t matter what she did to try to stay shaded because, in her lack of flow, her efforts were fruitless. On the contrary, I was fine. I had brought my crocheting, which I quickly pulled out at the beginning of our road trip to entertain myself. This really helped the time in the car go by quickly for me, putting me in my flow. My dad’s wife, unfortunately, saw me take my crocheting out, sighed and told me that my dad had told her not to take up space by carrying hers since we were flying. Now she longingly looked at my yarn and crochet hook and sighed again. I suggested she buy some yarn and a hook the first chance she could, which she did. Clearly this helped her entertain herself in the car, but she still struggled with being over-heated.

Life’s point this time was a pronounced example of how we really do attract experiences that reflect our energy. She and I each had temperature sensitivity issues and we each crochet, but my experience was far more pleasant than hers. I know that I need to make the choices in life that are most in my flow. I need to allow.

This was a great, illustrated example. So often people talk about being in the flow or having had a great time on a vacation, but they are often comparing apples and oranges. In this life example, she and I are both saying that we had a great vacation and a great time. Nevertheless, I had a completely different experience than she did in many ways, namely by feeling light, enjoying, welcoming the experiences that came my way, even the long day trips that I didn’t prefer or some negativity towards life my dad expressed. Whereas she was grumpy at least once a day, she often said she was having a good time but obviously didn’t mean it and felt ill a few times. Now, I’m not saying she didn’t have a good time, I’m just saying that we had very distinct experiences and that, in my flow state I allowed joy, adventure and knowingness in my experience. Quite a juxtaposition to her journey’s challenges.

DSC07276My teachers once said to me that it isn’t often in life that I will know things. When you do know something, they said, then use that and act upon it.

It’s not that this was an esoteric secret, it’s just that I’d never thought to think about the fact that there are things I know inherently somehow, things that I have a good idea about and many more that I just don’t know.

So many things in life are uncertain. Most of the time, at best, we make an educated guess, we do our best and hope things work out. But sometimes we know. And when we know, then we also know what to do and where that will lead us. This was their point, when I know, then I should let nothing stop me from using my knowingness.

Today is the anniversary of the day I was born. You may call it my birthday, but since I celebrate my birthday at a different time of year I think of this as a time of year when life seems to open to me. And this week has opened to me.

This week we met my father and his wife in Mexico City and we flew to the Campeche and Yucatan area. We are spending time together, of course, but part of the intent of the trip was for me to see some of my roots, some of my father’s heritage.

The trip has been, unexpectedly, very tourist-like. We have gone and seen Mérida, Campeche, the pyramid sites of Edzná, Uxmal, the city where my dad was born called Ciudad del Carmen; we also went to a small ecological area called Celestún. We saw some family in Ciudad del Carmen and drove around the neighborhood where my father grew up and went to school. We saw his local church and another church who had acquired their land as a donation by one of my father’s uncles. (This uncle had bequeathed quite a bit of land, donating several plots of land to various religions, no doubt to cover his basis!) The only thing that we didn’t get to do was to see my grandparents and great-grand parent’s graves.

Even with all of these sites, nothing stirred me, nothing touched me or felt like it was a part of me or my past. It was as if I were the complete stranger to these places that I am.

Still, I came to a place of knowingness several times on this trip.

Every day I marvel at how amazing life is. It knows us better than we know ourselves and life knows how to take care of us in ways that we barely comprehend, if we are lucky. Life knows what will suit us and what will serve us better than we do because the Law of Attraction simply allows the energy that we are to come forward.

This is a part of the design of life. It brings to us the energy that we are to us so that we may be guided in the right direction every time. In every experience we have, we can allow ourselves to become aware of what we do or do not like about the experience and we can change it. We can became aware of what desires of ours are not being met and we can change this; we can become aware of what we require to be in the flow of our Source Energy and we can allow this to come forward.

The Guidance From Source

We are well provided for by our lives or our Source Energy. Whether we recognize it or not, we are always given what we need to shift our own energy. We have intelligence, the ability to discern, the ability to make choices and the ability to change ourselves so that we may become who we prefer to be.

One of the most powerful and effective tools, or methods, that we have to change ourselves is our imagination. Our imagination is a fun tool because, like energy, it is unlimited. Anyone can imagine anything they choose, which we see in creative story tellers. Because imagination is energy and operates the same way energy does, our imaginations can plant the seed of a new experience for us. Like any seed that is watered and cared for, our imagined idea can grow, attracting more energy to it, until it has enough energetic mass to attract form to it. Another way of saying this is that once we have created a large mass of energy through our imaginations, the Law of Attraction then uses this to attract experiences, people, places and things into our lives.

What You Require

We all require things in life, such as food and shelter. One of the most spiritually advanced concepts that I have ever come across and learned was that what we require, or what we need, is a positive thing, not a negative one. This is to say that what we require, or need, should be seen as a positive thing and not as a weakness within ourselves. People rarely qualify their needs as either genuine requirements for their lives or indulgences that can be damaging, such as the indulgence of an addiction. Spiritually speaking, our genuine needs are the things we need in order to be healthy and whole. These needs are not the needs that are spoken of when an alcoholic says that they need a drink. Quite the contrary, genuine needs are a part of the amazing guidance system that our Source Energy and life have set up to help us along our paths. Our genuine needs point us in the direction of our well-being.

butterflyinhand

Allow

As multidimensional beings, however, our genuine needs go much deeper than just the needs for food and shelter. The happiest and healthiest people in the world find that they have emotional needs as well, such as the need to have good friends, to be loved and to love their selves; to have their dreams come true, to express their selves and to feel a connection with their Source. A whole person truly has balance in all areas of their lives.

Of course, no one is expecting us to be perfect and have everything we need or desire in life.  However, our Source Energy is giving us the guidance and the ability to raise our energy and put ourselves in the flow of our well-being.

Again, one of the most powerful ways for us to do so is through our imagination. Our imagination allows us to see what we need, what we would prefer instead of what we have, and what we require in order to be in our well being physically, emotionally and mentally. When we use imagination this way, it truly fulfills the need, or the genuine requirement, we have. Our imagination can be used to begin to attract our genuine preferences into our lives, the things that will create well-being in us.

If we were to try to imagine another drink when we have an alcohol addiction we would find that our well-being state is not being met. On the contrary, we would simply be separating ourselves more from our well-being and increasing the addiction.

Fooling ourselves into thinking that we are using imagination to create well-being within ourselves when we are really using fantasy and creating more separation is a common mistake. People often reach for fantasy because it tends to relieve any pain they are feeling, just as a drink or a hit of a drug would, in the moment. In the long run, however, it does not create a new energy for us, the way imagination does. On the contrary, in fantasy our energy leaves us; it goes out to the object of our focus, such as the drink.

Losing energy this way can be very detrimental to us because it decreases our ability to attract what we prefer in our lives.  We increase our ability when we use the guidance in our lives to know what our genuine requirements, or needs, are and use a tool, like imagination, to attract what we prefer for ourselves in our lives.

It’s Sunday today, we arrived on Thursday. As always, the August jungle is hot, humid, thick and captivating. Of course, it feels hotter to me than it has in the past, but no doubt it always feels this way since I am accustomed to the high desert’s arid, hot summers in Santa Fe.

As always, our hotel is larger than life. A glass of Champaign greeted us at the Premier Lobby, one of four lobbies. Our room was a welcome site – air conditioning, a towel elephant with a flower on it, a fruit basket and beach towels ready to go.

So three days have flown by. We attended Troy & Tina’s wedding rehearsal dinner Friday and the wedding Saturday. Tina is looking beautiful, like a soft, gentle goddess and Troy has been cool as a cucumber in his handsome, ragged way. His day has come and one of his biggest dreams has come true. Now that is a sight to see, I wouldn’t have missed this for anything.

The Mayan wedding ceremony was wonderful. Copal smoke sailed by in the ocean breeze as the couple were blessed, bathed (gently) in beans, were given wedding flowers to wear and had their souls blended with flower petals.

There is no arguing it, this is paradise. The all-inclusive hotel provides delectable meals, unlimited drinks and other such amenities to take care of your every need. Attending a wedding here has been magical from the ocean’s breath to the pre-historic-looking birds flying over head and the Mayan sounds at the ceremony.

As if this weren’t enough, I have been receiving many energetic blessings myself. I have a calling to go to a pyramid of Coba where I know I will re-connect with the energy of the past lives I have seen here and with the messages that are meant to guide me in my own journey through life.

I consider myself blessed to live in my flow.
