I see that for several of my students, and myself, healing has been in the air.
There are cycles in life. Different energies present themselves at different times, facilitating new opportunities, new possibilities. For example, during spring, they say love is in the air. The energy present now lends itself to a time for life healing.
There are two kinds of emotional healing. Self healing is done self-to-self; we can only overcome the issues by bringing love to ourselves. Life healing requires the living of life for us to move through and past our issues. As we experience life and allow both life and ourselves to change, our life experience changes and heals us.
There is a reason we are here having an experience called life and that is so that we live it. Sounds obvious, I know, but people commonly would like to avoid life because it can be a hard and cruel experience. And so, people often do avoid things: how they feel, what they need, feeling unhappy, conflict, love, risk.
The ultimate problem with avoiding life though, is that nothing ever changes. We exhaust ourselves using our will and our energy to keep life at bay, creating a stagnant, un-changing place for ourselves which is outside our Golden Flow (TM), or outside of our Source’s reach.
Despite our resistance, life persists, trying to help us to heal and to evolve. For some of my students it has brought love their way, for others it has brought a new level in life with a new job, a new retirement. They face issues in claiming their own personal power, in coming to know Who they truly are and in learning to be who they are regardless of what happens. Because we, as people, are all connected at energetic levels, it is common for us to go through the same energy, which is experienced according to our own level of development. Thus, I see the same healing energy that my students are going through as I see in a few other people and myself.
My healing flow has come to me in the form of a visit to San Miguel de Allende, or SMA as the locals call it. Being part Mexican, I have spent time in Mexico growing up and this provided many issues for me. As cultures are, this one has its own character and can, unfortunately, be marked by machismo and separation. Growing up I was a “gringa”, an american, so that even visiting relatives never felt familiar. I was taught to be very cautious of people in this large, over-populated city who might want to steal, beg or even kidnap others. I was taught that Mexico, and life, were required being guarded because life could be dangerous, unhealthy, and certainly untrustworthy.
As such, I have learned to be cautious in life: when I lived in Los Angeles and when I visited Mexico I always locked my doors, kept my purse very close to me and glared at strangers who might breach my personal space, let alone smile at me. Truly this closed and cautious mode was hightened still further when visiting Mexico.
My husband, Kris, and I began taking students to the Mayan Caribbean ten years ago, and I quickly saw that this area in Mexico was clean, safe and that I could relax, let my guard down. After all, there are a ton of tourists here, which means that it is basically a safe area, the proof being in all the people I see walking around! I’ve fallen in love with the Mayan Caribbean, how could I not? I have found that I have strong ties to this area that tug at me and open to me.
On a spiritual path, of course, I have taken steps in my self-healing, allowing myself to see as much as possible that was out of my flow and bringing that back into my flow. Yet some pockets within can only be healed through life. And life now finds me here in SMA.
Our month-long trip has been a healing life journey for me. I have come to see that my upbringing messages were meant to protect me, but that they were not completely clear. During this month I have experienced only helpful, nice people. Whether we are asking for directions or asking about lodging, people with very few exceptions, have been people. There is no reason for them to be unkind or opportunistic; instead they have been people living their own lives.
SMA itself has been beautiful and has opened its arms to us. The energetic vortex here has been fabulous, helping one connect with the energy of their Self. Everything has been warm and friendly – the weather, the food, the crickets at night.
I have seen myself, through my fabulous month here, open more in ways I didn’t think were possible. I have seen myself come to a more comfortable level with life, taking the trust to a deeper level yet.
My trip was topped off with an invitation to see a film last night. The film was a documentary, “Lost & Found in Mexico” by Caren Cross. It is a great film exploring why so many ex-pats come to SMA to make a new life for themselves. It was a great film that truly found that many people found the space and time to discover who they truly are, here in SMA. Imagine that! Even the movie was about people finding their life healing here.
What a wonderful thing. When we heal this way in life we can’t help but increase our connection to Source Energy and to improve the energy that we then attract and manifest from. The women who came to the Ladies Intensive, a five day manifesting workshop I lead, had a fabulous time and are feeling the magic of SMA and their Source, as am I. The magic has been so grand that we have planned our next journey to SMA for New Years, when we’ll bring students here and take them on a day trip to Teotihuacan.
So life healing really is in the air. As such, for the new friends that I made, the healing that was done, the wonderful women’s workshop I led and the time with my husband and daughter, I am truly greatful and more healed.

“When love is present, you feel as though the sun is ever shinning.” The Oracle
One of the true purposes of relationship is a great mystery to most.
Relationship is often used to make us feel better, to make us feel special. These are a natural occurrence in relationships because as we come together we merge and experience the oneness that the universe is truly made of.
However, most people use this aspect of relationship to make up for their short comings, which can be damaging to relationships. Our relationships are actually meant to do the opposite: they are meant to help bring out those short comings and turn them around, with the love and support of our mate, so that we turn these into strengths.
“Behind every great man there is a great woman”
This is an old saying that many of us, including myself, used to greatly misunderstand. For us, this meant that a subservient, hidden woman had her place and identity only in her marriage.
However, as most of us have evolved and matured, we have come to see the true meaning of this great quote. It truly speaks to the gender flows, illuminating the assertive and visible presence of the masculine and the receptive and often unseen quality of the feminine. The feminine has been misunderstood in our world for so long and seen as weak because it is unseen. However, this perception is greatly shifting and becoming more clear as people come to realize the true power of the feminine.
The unseen is far greater than the seen; the unseen is connected to Spirit or Source, such that a woman in her receptive flow will hold a powerful connected to knowledge and knowingness of the world of energy and things to come.
People are just beginning to realize that a powerful and mysterious woman in her feminine flow can be more powerful than a man in his masculine flow. The masculine flow needs to “go out and conquer the world” while women receive the world, allowing what they want or desire to come to them. A beautiful flow of allowing, wouldn’t you say? All femininity does is it connects with magic and allows magic to bring things to her.
It is not to say that this is how all men and women are or should be. It is just to say that relationship can provide the space and the love for each partner to become Who they truly are. It is only in the intimate connection and deep sharing of our lives that we can touch deeper places in ourselves and bring forth the power of Who we truly are, the Who that is then connected to our Source Energy.
Can you believe your relationship can connect you to your Source Energy? How could it not? Loving romantic relationships give us the feeling and sensation of oneness, and that is a place of connection to our Source, to our best selves and to Who we truly are.
Love & Light,
Kalyn
This note is dedicated to Howard & Karen, who are using their relationship to develop intimacy in their selves and to support each other with love as they each grow their own connection to their Source Energy and become Who they truly are.
It is also dedicated to Simon & Sarah who are now taking their first steps in relationship~

Regardless of what experience we have, there are three maybe four energy-feeling reactions for us to go into. These energy-feeling reactions take us to another energetic world.
Have you ever noticed that when you feel a certain way, the whole world is different? And when your feeling changes, the world seems to change too? On a not-so-subtle level, when when we are experiencing a broken heart, all the lovers in the world seem to cross our paths. When we have a baby, all of a sudden babies are everywhere we look, though they hadn’t been there before; and giving up chocolate for Lent means we are now offered chocolate at every turn.
Our world is unique to each one of us because for each one of us our own energy determines our individually experienced world. And we know this, since we don’t bother asking everyone “Have you noticed that Willy Wonka has been hard at work putting chocolate candies all over my office, now that it is Lent?” We don’t ask because we have come to recognize that each person has their own world blessed with their own gifts or haunted by their own Wonka.
We travel between worlds–worlds of energy. These energies are like a drop of water in an ocean. Each drop can be self-contained, but the drop is a part of the ocean, just like a certain energy is just a part of the vast energy in our universe’s flow. However, when you are completely immersed in that drop of water, similar to when we are swimming under water in a pool, that drop is our whole world.

We travel between these ‘worlds’ of energy through one aspect of ourselves: our emotions. Our feelings are what guide us and take us from one world of energy to another. They are the only part of ourselves that can move us around from one energy to another, unless we can perceive energy (what Carlos Castaneda calls negotiating the second attention, or the world of energy).
A mood can put you in a funk. It can bring you down (to a lower energy) and darken your whole day. A joyful event can pick you up (raising your energy) and brighten your day, seeming to then put you in your flow so that things all just seem to work out. In other worlds, the a feeling took you into an energy and in that energy the Law of Attraction then attracted “gray” happenings into your day or “bright” and positive experiences that kept your joy flowing.

Right now we are visiting San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. The city is beautiful, feminine and holds an emotional aspect to it that illuminates this point. The steep streets can be very narrow and the walls are all at least thirty feet high. Ornate, large doors mark the entrance to the worlds that reside behind these walls. Sometimes there is small shop, just ten feet by ten feet, behind the door. Other times I walk into a huge secret world that opens itself up, revealing a hidden treasure of signing birds, trickling water fountains and a lively buzzing cafe or an art school with an open courtyard filled with sunlight and tall trees.
While walking on the streets not a hint of the tall trees can be seen. It is only when I step into this new world that I enter the sights, colors, sounds, smells and life each space holds. Each unique space is like a castle, a small world onto itself.
Our feelings do the same thing for us. With any experience at any given time there are a limited number of feeling responses that we can have to any given experience. In other words, a barking dog can make us feel afraid or cautious but is very unlikely to make us feel generous. While the reactionary feelings each one of us can have is unique to each of us, we find that there are really only a few different ways that each experience makes us feel.
Each reactionary feeling though will set us off in a different energy, a different world. The same is also true for us when it comes to our dreams and desires.
The Law of Attraction says that an energy will attract like energies. Thus, an uplifted mood will bring to us more desirable experiences that match the energetic vibration. Our feelings take us into worlds of energy and in these worlds the energetic vibrations also match. By this I mean that once one has entered into one of the little worlds behind the wooden doors here in San Miguel de Allende, everything within the space energetically matches. The energies within the space are alike: behind one set of doors there may be a cafe, but that also means that the pharmacy drugs from three doors down are not sold on shelves here.
To attract what we want into our lives, therefore, really means that we need to enter into the feelings that we prefer. We need to choose the feelings that will open the doors to the world we want to experience. This is how we can most easily attract the life and experiences that we desire.
Life brings about experiences all of the time and, as I have said, we only have a few reactionary feelings available to feel. So, how do we choose our energetic world when there are only a few doors available to us? We choose to respond and not to react.
We can’t deny ourselves and our feelings, this only places us in energies of denial. However, we can choose to let life flow, which releases the feeling we are experiencing and allows for our Source Energy to bring us a new and higher vibrating feeling. We can choose to get into our Golden Flow (TM) so that any experience, whether it is a positive or negative feeling, is one that we release back into our Source’s flow. As we release our experiences and our reactionary feelings to these we begin to shift ourselves. At this point we don’t just walk into the first set of doors that we see. Instead we flow with life and we continue to walk down the street until we see a world we do want to enter. At this point we choose to feel the feelings that match this world and we enter in.
We can’t think our way into worlds of energy because we seek to feel good in life. We certainly can try to make a mental choice that we like something, but the heart wants what the heart wants. We seek our desires and our dreams because they make us feel good, not because we think they are a smart or wise choice.
We feel our way through life, whether we like the feelings we are experiencing or not. Feeling our feelings is what determines whether or not we are connected with ourselves. We also feel our way into worlds of energy. We are guided by our Source Energy though our life journey at all times and in ways that we are only just discovering. One of these ways is though our feelings. When you “get that feeling” you know that intuition is knocking on your door. The knock is guidance though your feeling aspect flowing from your Source bringing you to the door of your dreams.

Allow yourself to connect with your feeling aspect more deeply than you ever have! Join Kalyn & Kris Raphael on The Dream Cruise, a seven night cruise to making your dreams come true!

I was trying out a new show called “Trust Me”. Their are two main characters that work for an advertising agency. One day they are under the gun to come up with an advertising campaign and are arguing when one of them says to the other: “Perception is reality”, meaning that what their client thinks cannot be dismissed.
Great line, great truth.
If a fabric is plush, we assume it is soft. If we say “Sorry, I’m so stupid sometimes!” we find ourselves doing “stupid” things more often.
Perception as defined by the dictionary: “the act or faculty of apprehending by means of the senses or of the mind; cognition; understanding.”
The way we choose to re-cognize or understand something is the way we will then experience life. In other words, how we understand something then defines what we experience as our reality.
If you get hit on the head by a falling acorn, then you may perceive that they sky is falling. If you advertise this perception, this belief, then you (and anyone else who believes you) may begin to experience the sky falling.
This is one reason why some people seem to have things work out for them in life, or seem to have things fall into their lap. They perceive a clear sky and an acorn that hit their head- no big deal. This causes them less worry.
Next, and more importantly, they also perceive that they are intelligent and capable people so that even if they sky did start to fall, they know they would be able to handle it.
So, when trouble comes their way (and problems come to everyone in life) they perceive the problems to be small and manageable. They perceive that they will be able to solve the problem and that it will be no big deal.
We truly advertise who we are, what we are capable of and what will happen to us based on the beliefs and preconceptions we subscribe to. Because we subscribe to them, we are constantly advertising this to ourselves.
People who come from intelligent families advertise that they will have intelligent children who will attend prestigious universities; people who have never had much and who struggle tend to have children whose beliefs advertise that life is hard and that you get little in return. Generally speaking, this is then what their children experience.
I love the word advertise in this case! It is a great word that describes what we do. Just like a commercial on television that advertises a product, we advertise our beliefs to ourselves by reinforcing them all of the time. When we keep hearing the same beliefs within us sooner or later we believe this and then, because we perceive it, it becomes our reality!
If, on the other hand, we turned off our televisions – or stopped believing our own beliefs- then we could change the commercials. We could, instead, start to advertise what we want to advertise to ourselves. We could start to tell ourselves that we are very capable, that our dreams are coming true for us and that we are loving, wonderful people. We deserve having our dreams come true for no good reason.
We would advertise wonderful things about us to ourselves and we would start believing and experiencing a wonderful life. Our wonderful energy would use the Law of Attraction to attract wonderful things into our lives.
Now our advertised perception would cause us to see that, at second glance, life is more wonderful and more loving than we initially thought… and we are too.
Love & Light,
Kalyn
If I look in the dark, my world and my life are dark.
If I look up toward the sun, the light illuminates it all. It makes things feel better and it makes more of life seem possible. Even my dreams move from the realm of the possible to the experienced.
Now I dream of the possibility of having an even larger ohana than I do now (ohana is the Hawaiian word for family and we think of ourselves as a spiritual family). I dream of going on journeys with this large family, of growing together, experiencing life together and of watching each member become who they truly are and live the life they are truly meant to live! That is my dream of heaven on earth.
We were talking here at home and saying that before bed it is great to do a “death” process, meaning that you let all of your life go. You allow yourself to leave everything behind for the night, as if you were dying to your life since the day is over. (You are reborn into your life again in the morning).
Letting all of your life go this way is a great practice because it allows you to release a lot of what blocks your connection to Source. You allow your energy to flow, putting you into more authentic, Source energies. Increase your use of the Law of Attraction, since you enhance and clear your energy which increases your ability to attract!
You will find that you will feel better, you will be more clear in the mornings and life will flow better for you. You will also find that it is easier to then allow your dreams to flow into your life!
Sweet dreams!
“Source is ever flowing;
that means that everything is always changing,
that means that there are no exceptions.
Nothing stays in your life, everything goes.
Every moment of your day, and Source replaces everything, every moment of your day.”
–Kalyn Raphael, Oracle Wisdom
“Whether it is a painful experience or a joyful experience, when you allow it in, when you completely welcome it, it flows. It simply transforms. At that point, you return to your authenticity.” –Kalyn Raphael, The Oracle
“Give yourself permission to be who you are, not who your beliefs say you should be, not who your parents want you to be. Be who you are.”
